The Mr.Goodfish campaign started in 2010 in France, Italy, and Spain, led by the French aquarium Nausicaà – the largest in Europe. Building on its success, Mr.Goodfish3.0 aims to expand the app and its awareness campaign across EU and EEA countries to reach 30 million citizens.
The plan includes major upgrades to the Mr.Goodfish app by providing information about seasonal seafood, health benefits, and reducing food waste, tailored to different cultural and socio-economic contexts. The large-scale awareness campaign across traditional media and social media will target both adults and young people.
The enriched app content will be shaped through collaboration and input from stakeholders at three pilots sites and two replications sites in Europe.
As one of the pilot sites, Nordnorsk vitensenter is inviting stakeholders from our local seafood value chain as well as ordinary citizens and consumers to contribute to the app through surveys and workshops. The aim is for the app to be as inclusive as possible, and to share with our project partners national experiences and insights.
Nordnorsk vitensenter will also host interactive educational activities for adults, families and young people following the launch of the app.
Mr.Goodfish3.0 contributes to the EU Mission: Restore our Oceans and Waters – which aims to protect and restore the health of European oceans and freshwater systems through research and innovation, citizen engagement and investments in the blue economy – by advancing responsible seafood consumption.
